The 2024 Nissan Leaf Continues the Rise of Electric Vehicles
Nissan has announced the 2024 Nissan Leaf, the brand’s flagship electric model. The Leaf has been a staple for Nissan since its release in 2010 and is now in its second generation.
The Leaf got a significant facelift for the 2023 model, and the 2024 model doesn’t change much to the exterior. Much of the change is to the engine efficiency and charging power, so let’s look at what has changed.
Don’t forget to check out the Leafs we have at Dream Nissan!
Running Green and Running Clean
The 2024 Leaf has an impressive estimated driving range of 212 miles, and with the increasing number of charging stations, you can take your Leaf on a road trip across the country.
With the Quick Charge Sport, the S Trim can charge up to 80% in 40 minutes, while the SV Plus trim can charge up to 80% in 60 minutes. The portable charging cable can connect to a standard 120-volt or 240-volt outlet. The Leaf’s e-Pedal allows the driver to use just the accelerator pedal to start, accelerate and slow down.
The EV functions include a timer for charging that lets the driver set when and for how long they want the Leaf to charge, as well as an HVAC timer that allows the Leaf to pre-heat or pre-cool at specified times.
With the SV Plus trim, the owners can control functions, including charging settings, route planning, and more, using the NissanConnect EV app.
Two Models, Great Features
The 2024 Leaf comes in two grade levels, the Leaf S and the SV Plus. Both trim comes with Nissan Safety Shield 360, and automatic temperature control, while the SV Plus adds ProPILOT Assist, an electric parking brake, a heated steering wheel, and heated outside mirrors.
The S trim comes with 16-inch wheels, and the SV Plus trim has 17-inch alloy wheels. The SV Plus also comes with Nissan Door-to-Door Navigation, NissanConnect EV, and more.
The Future is Green
The 2024 Leaf is another step for the future of Nissan’s Ambition 2030 plan. In this plan, Nissan plans to push 40% of its sales to be fully electric by the year 2030. The Nissan Leaf is still popular and is the second best-selling electric car ever, and shows no signs of slowing down.
The Leaf is included in the $7,500 tax credit and has a limited warranty for lithium-ion batteries for either eight years or 100,000 miles. Check with your local dealer to see what other incentives and offers are available for the 2024 Leaf.
